Would You Rather… 20 Difficult Questions for Travelers

Traveling is essentially a series of choices: where to go, what to do, who to go with, how to do it, when to do it, why to do it, and the list goes on. Sometimes those choices can be quite difficult to make because both options are so great how could one possibly decide? However, there also comes situations in which both options seem to suck so badly how could possibly decide given the circumstances?!
With that said, let’s take a look at just what we’re willing to do. Here’s a little series of “Would You Rather’s” just for the travel addicts out there…
1.) Would you rather… flauntthe beautiful fruit of your loins at the nude beaches of the “World Capital of Nudism” in the Vermeille Coast in France or take one of the nude half-day cruises at Makena State Park in Maui, Hawaii?
2.) Would you rather… learn the sexy dance of the Tango in Buenos Aires, Argentina or the vibrante dance of the Samba in the Lapa street parties in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
3.) Would you rather… partake in a Japanese Tea Ceremony in Kyoto, or an American binge drinking ceremony at Boston College?
4.) Would you rather… stand at the North Pole, or the South Pole?
5.) Would you rather… bike across the US from New York City to San Diego, or bike across China from Beijing to Tibet?
6.) Would you rather… take ecstasy and have a crazy night you’d never tell your parents about at one of Thailand’s full moon parties, or take ecstasy and have a crazy night you’d never tell your parents about at Ibiza?
7.) Would you rather… go on a near-death trek across the Himalayas with Bear Grills of Man vs. Wild and live off of goat testicles, or the guy from Survivor Man and have to carry around his little camcorder everywhere?
8.) Would you rather… have an easier time with initial culture shock upon arriving in a new place or dealing with reverse culture shock upon leaving and returning “home”?
9.) Would you rather… drink snake blood in Vietnam, or eat cow tongue in France?
10.) Would you rather… fall in love with a fine, sexy, Spanish-speaking, tall dark and handsome/pretty Latino/a or a fine, sexy, Italian-speaking, tall dark and handsome/pretty Italiano/a?
11.) Would you rather… offend someone by telling them how stupid and idiotic they are for not having a desire to see the world, or ignore the conversation all together?
12.) Would you rather… buy travel gear that is sustainable, organic and recyclable to the best of its ability for a higher price, or just buy a copy of it made in China for a cheaper price?
13.) Would you rather… be humbled by the vast height of the Redwoods in California, or the vast distance of the Sahara Desert?
14.) Would you rather… have the book The Alchemist, or the book The Life of Pi with you if you were stuck on a deserted island for the rest of your life?
15.) Would you rather… travel in a country of forced silence and safety like China, or a country currently experiencing change and instability like Egypt?
16.) Would you rather … travel to a country that speaks very little English and learn their language, or travel to a country that can communicate in English as to avoid that obstacle?
17.) Would you rather… travel from place to place each week for six months and “see it all”, or live in one location with small mini trips for six months and really experience the culture fully?
18.) Would you rather… travel with a friend, solo, with a lover, or with the hot guy/girl you just met in the airport?
19.) Would you rather… volunteer abroad for one year in conditions you didn’t think you could survive in beforehand, or work abroad for one year in a culture with a work ethic so different than your own?
20.) Would you rather… travel to a place and realize you hate it but stick it out, or wish you had never gone there in the first place and leave as soon as possible?
So, how did you answer? What would you rather do?
Me, personally – I’d so rather drink snake blood, rage at a full moon party, and learn to Samba with a sexy Brazlian man.
What about you?

This was fun!
1.) Hard one… Probably French beaches but only because I’m more interested in going to France
2.) Tried to learn tango in BA – mega-fail! So Samba it is – I never made it to the Lapa street parties so would love to try again
3.) Ah definitely the Japanese tea ceremony. I like a drink as much as the next guy but I’d definitely try to stay away from American college parties
4.) Both! Antarctica has always been near the top of my travel list though, so if I had to choose it would be south.
5.) I’d rather bike across China. Only because China is higher on my priority list than the US
6.) Full moon parties I think. The thought of Ibiza kinda makes me sick.
7.) I’d love to go with Bear Grills except I’m vegetarian so it might be a problem… Survivor Man it is.
8.) There’s not usually an option to choose one really. However, I’d rather the initial shock because starting a trip is always better than ending one.
9.) Snake blood would be easier for a vegetarian but obviously I’d rather do neither.
10.) I think I’m already falling for an Italiana
11.) I don’t like conflict… IGNORE
12.) Happy to pay for eco-friendliness
13.) Always wanted to see the Sahara!
14.) Someone just recommended The Alchemist to me the other day so I’ll go with that one.
15.) I find the idea of living in forced silence fascinating so I’d go with China.
16.) So many of the places I’m dying to go are non-English speaking. The places I’m less interested in tend to be the English-speaking countries.
17.) Would you rather… travel from place to place each week for six months and “see it all”, or live in one location with small mini trips for six months and really experience the culture fully?
18.) Easy answer – hot girl I just met in the airport wins for sure
19.) I’d start with the different work ethic and then maybe next time I’d go for extreme conditions
20.) Realise you hate it and stick it out… It’s always possible to find good things about a place.
1.) take one of the nude half-day cruises at Makena State Park in Maui, Hawaii?
2.) learn the sexy dance of the Tango in Buenos Aires, Argentina
3.) partake in a Japanese Tea Ceremony in Kyoto
4.) stand at the North Pole
5.) bike across China from Beijing to Tibet?
6.) Thailand’s full moon parties
7.) the guy from Survivor Man and have to carry around his little camcorder everywhere?

13.) the vast distance of the Sahara Desert?
14.) The Alchemist
15.) travel in a country of forced silence and safety like China
