We’ve only been around for about a month now, but we’re off to a pretty exciting start. Our writing team is truly awesome and I love the fact that I get to work with such creative people. I’ve also been really fortunate to discover a bunch of really interesting travel blogs and connect with many through our hiring campaign. I just wanted put up a few of my personal favorites from the travel blogging world this week:
20 Weird Souvenirs From Around the World: The title alone made me want to actually read this. There’s definitely some really out there stuff on this list, so I encourage you to give it a read.
10 Tips for Taking Great Food Photos: I’m not much a photographer, but our SEO guy is not only a photographer, but a big time foodie. We’ll get him to write something here soon. If you’re going to take pictures of all the food you eat, you might as well make them look awesome.
15 Ways to Volunteer in Africa: If you’re looking to get away and do some good for humanity while you are at it, check out all your various options for spending some time in Africa. Pretty cool stuff.
Thirteen Other Great Travel Websites: This is great roundup done by Matt of some of the best travel blogs out there. It definitely put some new sites on my radar that I hadn’t heard of before.

Sitting Next to the Passenger from Hell
Hey Srinivas, excellent list. I love these ‘best of’ posts because I inevitably find a blog that’s new to me.
So today I was at the US embassy here in China getting more pages put into my passport (I look at this as an achievement by the way
. Walking through the embassy we passed through a fountain area with a giant sculpture in the center. And wouldn’t you know it – the sculpture was a 3D version of the picture you used to feature this post. It was the weirdest coincidence b/c I don’t even know what those things up there are haha.
Anyway, I wanted to share that because I found it amusing.
What were gigantic thumbtacks doing as a water sculpture at the US embassy in Beijing, China? Random haha.
